Hands-On Education Led By Caring Instructors

The online masters degree in health science is presented in a flexible, personalized structure that is highly customizable based on your career goals. You’ll have the choice of either selecting coursework through our 3 Specialty Tracks — Health Education, Health Leadership, or Clinical — or completing a generalist plan of study and designing your own set of electives. Students also have the option of pursuing more than one specialty track. In this case, completing the program will require more than 30 credits.

As one of the nation’s first masters degree in health science to be offered online, we continuously apply our experience in the space to offering high-quality, interactive, accessible programs to our students. The program can be completed entirely as it suits your schedule, with most students needing only 18-24 months to satisfy all of the program’s requirements. This makes SFU’s online masters of health science degree program a practical option for working professionals, allowing them to enhance their skills while still working full-time.

You can graduate from the online masters of health science program with new skills in the following areas:

  • Using modern healthcare research methods and databases
  • Evaluating and addressing ethical concerns
  • Communicating effectively across a healthcare organization
  • Leading a multi-disciplinary or departmental team
  • Reviewing and shaping health policy
  • Maintaining a diverse, culturally-aware work environment

As part of the program, you’ll also have the opportunity to participate in a residency project, during which you’ll identify an underserved need in health and wellness, creating a study of how you’d go about addressing the issue.
